The incident took place in New Canaan around 9 p.m., Monday, June 27 in front of the New Canaan Police Department at 156 South Ave.
The New Canaan Police vehicle was exiting the parking lot of 156 South Ave., to turn right onto South Avenue to head north, said Lt. Jason Ferraro, of the New Canaan Police.
"As this vehicle was turning right out of the parking lot a bicyclist was struck by the front of the vehicle," Ferraro said.
The cyclist, a 68-year-old male New Canaan resident, suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Ferraro added.
He was transported to Norwalk Hospital for further evaluation and treatment by New Canaan EMS, police said
At this time this incident is under investigation and no additional information will be released, Ferraro said.
